Pretty new to RetroPie and not terribly technically proficient so bear with me. Two of the games I've tried, Megaman X4 and Croc, work flawlessly so far.I launched SaGa Frontier and it plays fine, but a few of the game sprites have these weird vertical lines on either side. I've noticed some of the background images also have a white horizontal bar at the bottom. It's as if the images are misaligned or something when loaded into the game.Brave Fencer Musashi also has problems. During the opening cut scenes after starting a new game, there are horizontal bars on the top and bottom of the screen that rapidly flicker and then the game eventually freezes making it unplayable. Are these issues more likely to be a problem with the ISOs themselves or my emulator settings?

I've only tried running these on the default PSX emulator, so I might see if that makes a difference. I also had to create my own CUE files for each game mentioned here.Any suggestions?. On Musashi, I'm not getting the bars, but I'm definitely getting the freeze during cinematics (the opening cinematic and steamwood completion). This seems to be a common problem. You can enable some compatibility settings in the emulator's options menu, but it really makes the game chug and messes with the sound. I've been turning them on long enough to get through the freeze then turning them back off. There's two options mentioning specific games (not Musashi) on the same menu page that lets you set up the PSX emulated controller type, and I don't recall which one is the one that fixes the freeze.

Some people have suggested it's the BIOS or the ISO. I've tried two BIOS files (and checked their hashes) and I've tried several different ISOs (both downloaded and self-ripped) and continue to get the freeze.

Lr-pcsx-rearmed has various issues in general.I know just a few days ago pointed out slowdown in Crash Team Racing and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, though I believe those may be an issue with the original hardware having slowdown.Edit 1: tried out Crash Team Racing on the original hardware and didn't have any slowdown issues. You'll also notice some slight graphical glitches.Personally, I decided to keep PSX emulation alongside N64 emulation on my PC.I also had to create my own CUE files for each game mentioned here. You had to create them? Well, I know you aren't using Redump verified PSX games then. I'd look into grabbing some Redump verified ones, just to make sure the games aren't the problem.Though like I said, expect quirks when emulating PSX on a Raspberry Pi due to the emulator.

Also, overclocking a Raspberry Pi 3 will not improve general PSX emulation (though will probably help with enhanced resolution), as the issues seem to be emulator-side and not processing-side.Edit 2: For anyone needing to make CUEs, check this site out. Yeah, I too shelved PSX emulation, and just use my PC.

I submitted a report to the Github, and it was acknowledged, so hopefully a coder will see it and be able to help us out! That said, I was actually able to visit my parents about a week ago, and I managed to dig up my original PSX system and the games, so I was able to fire up crash team racing on the actual hardware! Couldn't find my copy of spyro: year of the dragon, but CTR definitely ran like butter, and didn't have those issues, so it's safe to say the emulator is at fault.Sorry I wasn't much help OP, but yes, lr-pcsx-rearmed is a good, but flawed emulator, so your mileage may vary with different games.

You can try other dumps, but I don't think there is much you will be able to do otherwise. Anvil world converter download.
